Perjeta 420mg Injection is an anticancer medication containing the active constituent Pertuzumab. It is used to treat HER2-positive breast cancer in combination with other chemotherapy medications. It works by inhibiting the excess production of a human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) protein in the mammalian cells. This causes inhibition of the cancer cell growth and, finally, initiation of apoptosis.

Perjeta 420mg indicated for the treatment of patients with HER2-positive breast cancer in combination with other chemotherapy medications.
Therapeutic Effects of PERJETA Injection
Perjeta 420mg Injection contains Pertuzumab, which belongs to the class of monoclonal antibodies. It works by inhibiting the excess production of a human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) protein in the mammalian cells. This causes inhibition of the cancer cell growth and, finally, initiation of apoptosis.
Directions for Use
Perjeta is usually given as an intravenous injection once every 3 weeks. This medication may be used in combination with other chemotherapy medications.
The dosage and duration of treatment will depend on the individual’s condition and response to the medication and should be determined by the doctor.
Your doctor will decide the dose and frequency of administration based on your health condition.
A trained healthcare doctor will administer Perjeta 420mg. So, do not self-administer.
Storage
Perjeta 420mg Injection should be stored in refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C. Do not freeze.
If you are traveling, carefully follow all patient instructions for storing your medicine during travel. Avoid extreme heat or cold.

- Allergic and anaphylactic (more severe allergic) reactions with symptoms that may include swelling of your face and throat, with difficulty in breathing.
- Heart problems (heart failure) with symptoms that can include cough, shortness of breath, and swelling (fluid retention) in your legs or arms.
- Tumour lysis syndrome (a condition which may happen when cancer cells die quickly, causing changes in blood levels of minerals and metabolites shown in a blood test). Symptoms may include kidney problems (weakness, shortness of breath, fatigue and confusion), heart problems (fluttering of the heart at a faster or slower heartbeat), seizures, vomiting or diarrhoea and tingling in the mouth, hands or feet

Contraindications
Perjeta 420mg Injection is contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to Perjeta 420mg or any of the excipients.
Drug Interactions
Drug-Drug Interactions: Perjeta 420mg Injection may interact with anti-cancer drugs (anastrozole, carmustine, daunorubicin), monoclonal antibodies (abciximab, adalimumab), antibiotics (bleomycin), local anaesthetics (bupivacaine, butacaine).
Drug-Food Interactions: Avoid alcohol consumption and smoking.
Drug-Disease Interactions: Tell your doctor if you have heart problems like heart failure, irregular heartbeats, and uncontrolled high blood pressure, liver or kidney disease, lung disease problems.

You should not become pregnant while you are taking Perjeta 420mg Injection for at least one week after your last dose of treatment. Using effective birth control methods while on treatment is suggested.

It is not known whether Perjeta passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor if you are breastfeeding before taking this medication.

Perjeta may cause dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting in some patients. Therefore, avoid driving or operating machines that require mental concentration until you are not alert.
