Phesgo is an injectable fixed-dose combination regimen containing pertuzumab and trastuzumab. It is used to treat HER2-positive breast cancer by inhibiting the excess production of a human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) protein in the mammalian cells. This causes inhibition of the cancer cell growth and, finally, initiation of apoptosis.

Indications of PHESGO Injection
Phesgo indicated for the treatment of patients with HER2-positive breast cancer that is advanced or has spread to other parts of the body. It will also be given before or after the surgery if the cancer has not spread to other parts of the body.
Therapeutic Effects of PHESGO Injection
Phesgo Injection contains Pertuzumab and trastuzumab, which belongs to the class of monoclonal antibodies. It works by selectively binding human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) protein and inhibits the excess production. This causes inhibition of the cancer cell growth and, finally, initiation of apoptosis.
Directions for Use
Phesgo is usually given as an intravenous injection once every 3 weeks. This medication may be used in combination with other chemotherapy medications. The dosage and duration of treatment will depend on the individual’s condition and response to the medication and should be determined by the doctor.
Your doctor will decide the dose and frequency of administration based on your health condition.
A trained healthcare doctor will administer Phesgo. So, do not self-administer.
Storage
Phesgo Injection should be stored in refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C. Do not freeze.

- Allergic and anaphylactic (more severe allergic) reactions with symptoms that may include swelling of your face and throat, with difficulty in breathing.
- Heart problems (heart failure) with symptoms that can include cough, shortness of breath, and swelling (fluid retention) in your legs or arms.
- Tumour lysis syndrome (a condition which may happen when cancer cells die quickly, causing changes in blood levels of minerals and metabolites shown in a blood test). Symptoms may include kidney problems (weakness, shortness of breath, fatigue and confusion), heart problems (fluttering of the heart at a faster or slower heartbeat), seizures, vomiting or diarrhoea and tingling in the mouth, hands or feet

Phesgo Injection is contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to Phesgo or any of the excipients.
Drug Interactions
Drug-Drug Interactions: Phesgo Injection may interact with anti-cancer drugs (anastrozole, carmustine, daunorubicin), monoclonal antibodies (abciximab, adalimumab), antibiotics (bleomycin), local anaesthetics (bupivacaine, butacaine).
Drug-Food Interactions: Avoid alcohol consumption and smoking.
Drug-Disease Interactions: Tell your doctor if you have heart problems like heart failure, irregular heartbeats, and uncontrolled high blood pressure, liver or kidney disease, lung disease problems.

Phesgo Injection is not recommended for use in pregnancy as it may harm your foetus. Hence, if you are pregnant or planning pregnancy, inform your doctor before taking Phesgo Injection. You should not become pregnant while you are taking Phesgo Injection for at least one week after your last dose of treatment. Using effective birth control methods while on treatment is suggested.
